Hugo's Diary

The pet sitter came in this evening like always, fed us and then left for a spot with an internet connection. She said it would be more fun for us if we could connect at our house to do the diary entries cause as it is now we end up writing our entries out by paw and she has to go to Starbucks where they rip her off for an internet connection and make her pay 20 dollars a month for T-Mobile Hotspot. She said that she's gonna cancel her hotspot connection soon because it's a rip off and she can find another coffee shop that connects for free to wireless. She's probably going to be home soon because the coffee shop closes at 7pm which makes for another hassle for her with the internet connection. She said sometimes she hangs out with all the homeless guys outside the coffee shop and they watch You Tube videos after the coffee shop closes. I think that's a little on the weird side myself but whatever floats your boat. I told her that I didn't think that was a very safe thing to do. She told me that drifters are a pretty loyal bunch and if you make friends with them they won't hurt you or anything. In fact, she said that once you're friends with them they will even help protect you if you need it. I guess ruffians have a moral code too. I suppose I never thought about it that way. She said what ever you do don't let them into your vehicle. Not because they are dangerous necessarily but because they smell of urine and that is not a pleasant scent for your car to have. It's fine in the open air because you don't notice it when the wind is airing out their butts but as soon as you are in a closed space you are bound to smell it. She said that her cats tried to pee on her once after hanging out with the ruffians because they didn't recognize her. After she explained to them who she was and what she'd been doing they let her go and then she just hid her clothes from them. Too much drama for me. I'm sure glad my mom doesn't take in strays. I saw that movie "Lady and the Tramp" and it sort of scared me to imagine hanging with those ruffians. To me that's almosta horror flick. Whew!!! Glad I'm at the safe and secure home my mom provides me with catnip for days.

Tiger Lily's Diary

Tonight when the pet sitter got here she had some thing next to her ear and she was talking really loud at it. It was kind of scary so I didn't come from down stairs until I heard her get quiet. She eventually got our food ready and I came down to eat. When I finished eating I came to sniff her at the chair and she grabbed me up and put the goo in my eyes. I jumped down after that and ran off into the dining room to do my own thing. She's always putting that goo in my eyes and I hate it. It feels good in the end and I know that but I still don't get too much into the whole eye goo thing. Right now Stargate is on and the pet sitter is watching it while I type. She said that when Stargate Atlantis is over that she has to go take care of other kitties so I have to stop typing for now.

Skye's Diary

This morning when the pet sitter arrived I threw her off the routine by staying upstairs and making her come to find me. She eventually came up and then she had to go all the way back downstairs in order to finish the routine. It was kinda funny. These humans have no idea how much control we fuzzies have over them. They think they control us because we are stuck in the house. Little do they know we choose to stay in the house and we could leave at any time it's as simple as the fact that we want to be served by our hairless servants. Tiger Lily has given in to the humans power and her punishment is that goo that they put in her eyes every day. I on the other hand have out smarted them. It may mean that some times I have to eat less food and have less freedom within the house but I do what I have to in order to show that I am the one in charge here.

Bea's Diary

All is going just fine on the fuzzy little home front. We recovered finally from the chaos that ensued when the pet sitter found the gifts our mom left her. I thought I'd have a heart attack from hearing her scream about it to her girlfriend on the phone. I got to go out on the porch last night and also today and it was kinda cool cause I feel like I'm being stealthy hiding between all the stuff my mom has stored out there. Hugo seems to enjoy it so much he never comes in unless the pet sitter goes to get him. He yowls at her but I don't think he's really mad at her. He's just jealous of her cats getting catnip cigars from mom for Christmas. I told him to be patient and that Christmas isn't here yet. We may be surprised to find that our mom left us gifts too. The pet sitter said that her step mom is getting her a digital camera and that she wished she had it early so that she could take pictures of all the kitties getting their gifts. I think she was talking about us. She said that we'll be famous after she gets her camera more than we already are because she's going to put our pictures up with our diary posts. That will be even more cool because our mom will get to look at us on the same day we're writing our journal and then in the end she'll have a whole bunch of pictures of us that she could ask our pet sitter for. The petsitter said that if she can figure out how to do it she's going to make a slide show of us for our mom. She may have to do it for all of her clients if one of them gets wind of her doing it for us.

Skye's Diary

Hey all. Nothing new to report here in fuzzland. Same same same same old routine. I have been thinking of ways to spice up life a little bit but with no luck. Send out some good vibes my way so that I can come up with some tricks to play on the pet sitter or something. That would really spice things up. Any way since all is the same and I am in the same routine lately I'll go for now. It's time for me to go upstairs and take my nap.

Tiger Lily's Diary

My stand in mom came this morning and fed me. She let me sniff her hands so that I could see where she's been. It's a new part of the routine that we've gotten into the last couple of stints she's had with us. She has a diabetic cat she hangs with a lot named Hugo and I smelled him. He smells tall, dark and handsome but I'm scared to meet him so I think I'll stay home with Skye instead. She fed me and then she rushed out of the house because she said she was late to get home and feed her own little kitties also. She was late getting to us because she slept in accidentally and now her poor little kitties are starving. She said she'd stay longer tonight.

Hugo's Diary

Today the pet sitter came. It was her first day for this particular stint. She came in for the evening meal around 630pm and then she was only here for about 10 minutes before she left. She came back around 9:30 in time to give me my insulin shot and then she was here for the night after that. She gave me my shot and then afterward when she went to throw the needle away she noticed that my mom had left her a stack of gifts. She opened the first one up and it was a 15 dollar gift card for itunes. She said at first she was wondering whether or not she could use it or not since she didn't know how it all worked. Before opening the next thing she called her girlfriend so she could give the play by play of her gift opening. She opened the second one and it was some chocolates a coffee mug and some catnip cigars for her cats. After that she went for the next box and she started freaking out. It was an ipod shuffle. She didn't know what to do with herself. She almost didn't open the rest of the gifts. Finally she contained herself and opened up the last two. One was a pair of house shoes which she needed because the other two pairs she has are falling apart due to age and Buddy chewing on them. The other was a down vest from Lands End. Finally she was done and then after talking with her girlfriend for a while she called my mom and I could hear her going on and on about the great gifts she had gotten. When she got off the phone with my mom she tole Bea and I about how great our mom is. (Like we didn't already know that!!) She said that every single year mom gets her just the right gifts. She said there has never been anything my mom gave her that she wanted to give to someone else in a regifting. She said that even if it was something she never knew she wanted that when she got it from my mom it was always perfect. She said she wished her own family took the time to pay attention in the few conversations they have with her enough that when they gave her something she felt like they were really paying attention. I feel sorry for her sometimes because she's stuck with us for Christmas but she told me that it's kinda boring with her family and it's colder where they are. She said that outside her mom she feels like Bea and I know her better and love her more anyway. She said every one else loves who they wished she'd become. I think she's become great if you want to know my opinion!! Who else can understand kitty speak as well as she can? No One That's Who!!!!! She's a keeper. I hope when mom moves she takes the pet sitter with her. If not she may have to fly her in for any of the times she's out of town. Well I'd better go I can feel another howling while I pee episode coming on.

Skye's Diary

All is the same as it always is when the pet sitter comes. Same routine, same food, same litter box, same same same same same. I don't know what I expect really it's just a boring life I lead. I roam around the house my human bought for me and I sleep where I feel like sleeping. I avoid the pet sitter when she comes and I just make sure to stay close to her in case she does something to Tiger Lily and then I can come to the rescue. Tiger Lily is happy. The pet sitter comes in and then before doing anything else she always lets Tiger Lily sniff her hands. Tiger Lily likes it because she gets to see where the pet sitter has been. She told me today that she smelled like a spay and neuter surgery and I told Tiger Lily that I remembered the pet sitter blogging about getting her cats fixed. I felt sorry for them but the pet sitter said it had to be done. Now they have to wear one of those cone things on their heads. The pet sitter says it's for their own good and all I can say is I'm glad it's not me.

It's Official There Are No New Kittens To Report At My House

Wednesday Samson and Delila got their precious parts snipped out. They have been de-jeweled. The family jewels removed and discarded who knows where. I know I am officially a mom now because of how sad I am. I know it had to be done but waa waa it wasn't easy. First the poor little rascals had to go without food from midnight the night before until they got home at 630 the day of the surgery. As if that isn't torture enought they had to endure the car ride there and they were the most well behaved and quiet little guys you've ever seen. When we got into the vet they stayed quiet the whole time despite all the funky smells wafting around that place. It smelled of dogs and cats and who knows what else, but they weren't afraid of any of it thanks to Rocky and Buddy coming to the house. Dogs don't scare them they think dogs are toys and they try to whack at their ears. Little dogs get freaked out by the kitties because they are so bold to come give the little ruffsters a sniff over. Any way when I picked them up Samson was as quiet as could be and Delila was too until she had to sit in the cold for too long while I opened the car door. She moaned in pain and discomfort letting me know to hurry up. The whole way in the car if we hit a bump or anything she just moaned and cried. I felt so bad for her. I was afraid they were going to hate me for the torture of depriving them with food and then taking them to get mutilated. When we got home I let them out and it seemed as if they were nervous that something was going to come out and grab them. When they calmed down Samson ran all around the house trying to eat any thing that was on the floor. I tended to poor little Delila and then realized that if I didn't feed them Samson was going to choke himself on something eventually. I fed the little buggars and then Delila started to lick her incision and bite at the stitches. It was driving her nuts because even squirting her didn't stop the nibbling and after a dousing of water I had to wrap her in a towel and protect her from herself. I didn't have an E-Collar so I was clueless on what to do. Especially since the stores were all closed. I ended up finding the last remaining paper plate in my house and I fashioned it into a cone and cut a hole in it for her little head to fit. I put it on her and taped it together with scotch tape. She figured out how to make my cheap little dollar store plate bend so she could reach her new chew toy and went at it again. I had to get a few old chopsticks that I had and break them in pieces to use as a splint for the paper plate. I taped the sticks all around the plate and then she looked even more hilarious with all this wood and paper and scotch tape around her head. She didn't have any periferal vision after that so she marched around the house lifting her little paws up like a German Soldier. I took a picture with my camera but I don't have a digital so we'll have to wait for the prints if you want to see the pics. I will post them as soon as they come up. I got her a real E-collar the next morning and she was very patient while waiting for the cutting to complete. Apparently she learned from her experience the day before that you shouldn't wiggle too much when a sharp object is near you. In the mean time Samson is running around like a lunatic with all sorts of energy. I was told he'd be more calm but that was a lie cause he is psycho now. Running and climbing and snuggling and wrestling. I know when I have human children I'll never have them fixed or I'll go nuts with all the energy they'll have. LOL

Potential Kittens Available

Hello All. Announcement is that I have been a bad cat mom. I have two stray kitties that I have had for a couple of months now. They are supposedly less than 6 months old which supposedly means that they can't mate successfully but they are starting to mock the actions of "doing the do". So I have put a call in to the local spay and neuter clinic but I will not be getting an appointment for a while so just in case there are kitties on the way keep in mind all of the people that you know who have been thinking of getting a cat. Anyway wish me luck, give me prayers, keep me in your thoughts or whatever it is you do for that kind of stuff so that I can get a quick appointment that costs little tiny amounts of money.

The Importance Of Organic Pet Food

The fab 5 major pet food manufacturers would have you believe that cute little packaged servings of food served with love from you but the increase in pet health issues will tell you different. I recommend that all of you read the book "The Food Pets Die For" by Ann N. Martin. This book has great information on the most common pet foods and manufacturers. Actually it would be a great Christmas gift for your favorite petsitter since she has to go to the library to get it or read excerpts on line.

Organic And Natural Pet Food Defined

Organic Pet Food Gets Paws Up

"Even Fido and Mittens are going organic...Organic pet food sales, up 63% last year, are growing at nearly 3 times the rate of human organic food sales, says the Organic Trade Association...Among all organic products - foods untouched by preservatives, pesticides, hormones and antibiotics - only sales of organic meats are growing faster...

Information About Organic Pet Foods

Hello All. I wanted to let you know that in the next few days and weeks I will be collecting information on organic pet foods for you. I will be purchasing and receiving samples of each of the pet foods that I am planning to research and I will be rating them over time for you. I will also be listing ingredients for you in case you have something you don't want your cat or dog to eat. In the end I hope this will enable you to make better choices about the food your animals will be eating. I come from farm country and I have found there to be a vast difference between country animals and city animals. In the country animals are a way of life and making a living for the people who own them and the job of the vet is to help the farmer make money and keep entire herds of animals alive and healthy. In the city animals are a way of life and making a living for the vet and the job of the vet is to keep your pet alive long enough to milk you of all the money you can give them because of the ailments that they have from the nutrient deficiencies caused by the psuedo food and over medication of the poor little guys. You may ask whether or not my opinion is based on fact or simple bias. Take it from someone who has grown up from birth caring for and medicating a variety of animals small and large this is the way of the pet world. Check the cost of medical care in cities vs. rural areas and you will see that the vets in the city make a great living while vets in the rural areas live right near the same lifestyle of the farmer. This is why I will be talking the next few entries about organic foods for your pet. Organic foods have not been processed to remove the good stuff along with the bad. I figure if you're gonna spend money at the vet then you could reduce the vet bill and increase the food bill the same amount. Take the petsitter challenge and we'll see if it works.

Cosmo's Diary

Today the petsitter got here with plenty of time to spare before Oprah started. What a weird show it is today. They are sizing all the women in the audience with bras. I don't know what to think about it with all the nakedness. I think I'll ask the petsitter to change the channel. I know she may call me a prude or make fun of my shyness but you have to do what you have to do. All is good here at the house. The litter is scooped, the water is refreshed, the dry food replenished and the wet food gone because we ate it as soon as it hit the bowl. I am looking forward to my mom coming home because I miss her. She lays in the bed with us and the petsitter doesn't do that. She's snuggly and all but she sits in the chair or at the counter in the kitchen. Mom seems to go more places in the house while the petsitter just mostly stays in one room. It makes it weird if we want to snuggle in the other room. Any way I'll go for now.

Archie's Diary

All is well in the house today. A bit warmer than it has been because the temperature outside has finally gotten warmer the last couple of days. It was 17 degrees out the other day and it went up from there to 19 to 30 to 33 to 50 and so on until today where it is about 64 outside. That helps keep it warm inside. Even though it never gets below about 65 in the house sometimes it seems colder than that. Cosmo and I ate and then Coz ran off to the bedroom but I had to come back and eat some more. Things are just fine and I'm starting to get excited cause I know my mom will be getting home on Friday or Saturday. The petsitter told me to be sure and remind mom to call when she arrives so that the petsitter doesn't pop over and wake her up from her jet lag nap. She also said that she may be getting a new digital camera and so we may be famous on the internet because we'll be able to put our picture with our diary entries. This way when we go to the vet all the other people there will know to give us the VIP treatment since we're famous.

Horrific Puppy Torture Case Being Heard In Atlanta Courts

There is a case in the court system currently where two teenage boys have been accused of torturing a small puppy by (among other things) cooking it live in a gas oven. Following are some snips from the article about the case. "Jurors recoiled in horror and wiped their eyes Thursday as prosecutors produced a series of grisly photos of a tiny puppy tortured and then killed in a gas oven...The blood stained oven showed showed scratch marks on the door and walls, indicating that the young dog - it's mouth and feet duct taped - struggled before it died...Beige paint also covered the puppy and the inside of the oven, a final act of cruelty before the animal was tossed into the stove..." The puppy was only 3 months old. (as if age makes a difference in the effect of paint, tape, cooking while live). This is a horrific case and I'm sooooo glad I didn't get called to be on the jury for this one. If I had I'm sure that they would have releived me of my duties pretty quickly because #1 I am a petsitter; #2 I think who ever is guilty should receive the same punishment as they dished out and #3 I would have jumped from the jury box and choked the shit out of the little punk bastards who were found guilty. All good reasons for the defense to decide against me as a juror.

Cosmo's Diary

Today the petsitter was here later than she wanted to be. Normally she gets here with plenty of time to feed us, water us, scoop the litter and then turn on the TV to catch Oprah with me after I eat. Unfortunately today we ended up missing out on the first 20 minutes of the show. Today on her show she had Josh Groban as her special guest. He is so great! When he sings it makes me cry. I'm just glad that kitty tears don't show up as obviously as human ones do so that way the pet sitter doesn't think I'm too sappy. It seems a bit cold today so Archie and I decided not to go on our run around the house. Archie is snuggling the pet sitter right now and it's so funny cause everytime she stops petting him to look at the TV he reaches out and grabs her dreadlocks with his claws. Archie is singing along with the TV right now cause Tony Bennett is on. I guess I'm gonna get off the computer for now because other kitties need to use it.

Archie's Diary

The petsitter is here. Last night it was cold so we ate nearly all of our food. She got here just in the knick of time. We now have more dry food in the bowl and we had a whole small can each of wet food. The hits keep coming. It was too cold to go for our jog so we decided to go to the bedroom and relax. The petsitter has been busy on her cell phone for the first 15 minutes of being here. She finally got off the phone and came to find us. We snuggled around on the bed and then she scooped the litter box and left. She said our mom would probably be home at the end of this week. She was here about an hour or so. Anyway all is well and we'll be seeing her tomorrow just in time for Oprah.

Tiger Lily's Diary

Today the petsitter came and fed us and the works. I confused her again by taking a long time to come down. She'd already cleaned the bowls, replaced the water and refilled the dry food before I even came down at all. When I came down she was just about to put the wet food down so I walked up to her and she snapped me up and put meds in my eyes. After that she put the wet food down and ran around the house until she located Skye. She said that there is another cat outside that is the same color as Skye so she always freaks out thinking she has let Skye outside accidentally. It's kind of funny watching her zip all around the house thinking she's lost one of us. Anyway now she's sitting in the chair waiting for me to come play with her so I guess I'll end this journal entry for now.

Skye's Diary

Tonight the petsitter came in and hung with us for a while. I came down while she was here since I didn't this morning. I didn't want her to think that I didn't like her just because I'm not a social person so I thought I'd make an appearance. I ate a bit of food and then went to the window by the TV to see if I could see anything exciting. I never really found out because between the cold and the fact that the petsitter couldn't hold still I couldn't concentrate so I just went back upstairs where it was warm and quiet.

Delila's Diary

Today was a good day. Mom played her ocean waves CD really loud in her room to drown out the noises which came from outside her room in order to keep Rocky and Buddy asleep longer and to stop them from barking at every little sound and waking her up. This meant Samson and I got to have more time out in the house alone before the boys got up and came to hang out with us. Mom slept until about 9 am which she was excited about because so far Buddy and Rocky have been waking her up around 7am. She hung out with us all until about 11 and then headed off to deal with clients. She came back to pick up K and they headed to brunch with P & V. They finally straggled in and then mom hung out with us all. We all 4 got to eat dinner, Rocky and Buddy got to eat a treat and then they both came and snuggled with my mom while she made all her phone calls. When they were finished she turned on the TV and then I jumped up on her lap to play with the computer but eventually fell asleep on her shoulder. It was kinda hard for me to fall asleep at first because Rocky and Buddy kept playing around and wrestling with each other. When Rocky got tired he finally went under his blankie on the down pillow and Buddy tried to play with Samson. It was a very good try because he succeeded. Samson sat on the couch while Buddy stood near him and kept snapping at him. When he snapped Samson swatted but neither actually touched the other. Finally Buddy got the idea that swatting was the cat way to play so he kept swatting at Samson. They played for 5 or more minutes like that and finally something distracted Buddy so Samson fell asleep. Kinda neat watching the whole interspecial harmony thing happen but I know as the huntress in the family it is my job to corner, stalk, and eat them - and if I can't do that I'll at least eat their food.

Cosmo's Diary

Today the petsitter had brunch with one of her friends nearby and was running late so she came and left pretty quickly. She checked on us and fed us more food and scooped the litterbox. She pet us a bit and told us that her girlfriend was waiting in her car because of her allergies and that they were going to brunch so she would spend more time with us tomorrow. I told her it would be fine because she has spent at least 2 hours with us almost every other day she has been here. Archie misses mom and so he was a bit disappointed that the petsitter was leaving but he accepted it.

Tiger Lily's Diary

Today the petsitter got here and went through the normal routine. I think I freaked her out because I normally meet her at the top of the stairs. Today I didn't come down from the upstairs bedroom because I was cold. She didn't see me until she came upstairs to scoop the litter boxes. I could tell she was relieved to see me. She looked in on me and on Skye in the other room and then she scooped the litter box. She finished that and went downstairs and I met her down there. She snapped me up and put goo in my eyes and then sat in the chair waiting for me to finish the rest of my food and play with her. I played swat the keychain with her for a while and then she left for brunch with friends.

Skye's Diary

Wooo!!! It's cold outside. I can tell because every time I sit near the window it's pretty nippy. Tiger Lily of course doesn't even notice because she is kinda chubby and only paying attention to the food. The petsitter gave the goo to the eye and put the food down and then sat in the chair. She tried to play with Tiger Lily but with no success. Tiger Lily was off doing her own thing and could have cared less. The petsitter eventually left and said she'd be back in the morning.

Samson's Diary

Today was a long day. My mom got caught in traffic on the way home so she was late getting here. Then she rushed in and ignored us and went outside with Rocky and Buddy. They were pretty excited but Delila and I weren't. We had to stay in the bathroom until they got back from a walk. When they got back mom came in the bathroom with us and snuggled us and fed us and then she left us in there! She went out there and snuggled the boys without us. Then she fed them and left to go to the movies with her hairless friends. When she came back she did the same thing accept she didn't leave. Finally she came and opened the door and let us out of the bathroom. We came out and Delila went straight for the food that Buddy left behind. Mom keeps having to invent crazy contraptions to keep her out of Buddy's food. Once everyone calmed down things became better for a while. Rocky got under his little blankie on the down pillow that mom let him have and Buddy sniffed around the house while I sniffed Rocky. Finally I woke him up and then everything went nutty. He couldn't settle down. He tried to jump on mom's computer, he went and tried to eat our food, he tried to eat the litter, he tried to get into the laundry. Then Buddy started trying to play with him and he wouldn't so he tried to play with mom instead. Mom got down on the floor and we all 4 played with her together. She played chase the hand on the floor and Buddy played with her for a really long time after we got tired. She pretended to be a dog and they wrestled and bit at eachother until mom got tired. Then Buddy followed me all around the house trying to talk me into playing. I did a little but when he got all excited and started barking it freaked me out. That whole barking thing is Greek to me. Oh well we tried.

Archie's Diary

Today the petsitter came and said that it was weird cause there was nothing in the mail box. She noticed the mailbox door was a bit opened and the neighbor's box was completely opened and neither looked like they had mail in them. The other boxes up and down the street seemed to have their doors shut. Who knows it must be that the mail man is running late today. We ate our wet food and then I did our normal run around the house for a bit of exercise before sleeping, but this time Cosmo just sat there watching TV on the chair with the petsitter. I was kind of mad at them so I howled and talked to them the whole time I ran around. The petsitter said she thought I would do good with a Bach Flower Essence shot every now and then to calm me down. She said that animals that eat weird stuff are usually suffering from a disease called Pica which will eventually become some version of diabetes unless it is taken care of and that the cure for Pica is supplements of Chromium and Vanadium. She said this would cure Pica and Diabetes both and that there are plenty of studies to show it. Any way the point is that at first she thought maybe I needed to have those but after watching me run around she thinks it's more of a nervous sort of thing. She said she has multiple clients with dogs and cats who act just like me and that they are helped with Rescue Remedy or something else helpful for nervousness. The petsitter said she found another thing that she is going to try with her cats it's called the Feliway Diffuser. You plug it in when you want to help relieve stress for your kitty. She babysits dogs every once in a while for her best friend TBLJ and she said she may buy one of these things to help the kitties cope with the changes. She said she may recommend it to all her clients if it works. It sounds like it would be perfect to plug in while the petsitter is visiting or when I act kind of funny.

Cute Cat Video

I don't know how the cat got into trying this trick at all but kinda neat that it can do it. The question is how does the cat get out?

Buddy's Diary

The petsitter took us on 3 walks today. One in the morning, One in the afternoon and one in the evening. It was kinda nice to go on so many walks but it was scary at the same time. First of all the petsitter always carries a bag of trash with her on the walk because the dumpster for her apartment complex is a couple of blocks away so it's scary to walk with this big bag following you. Secondly, she tosses the bag in the dumpster and it's realy loud when it hits the bottom of the dumpster. Today it was really frickin windy compared to what I'm used to so I didn't know what to think. It was as if all the trees were chasing after me or something. It was like a horror film or something. Not to mention that it was cold as heck outside and so any part of my body without hair was freezing. If I had balls I would swear they had been frozen off. Right now outside it's about 30 degrees. When the petsitter got home and our night time walk was completed Rocky insisted on trying to hunch me. Eventually he got bored with it I guess because he stopped trying and we went into the petsitter's bedroom and layed on the bed. Me and Rocky and the petsitter wrestled and played bite the hand for a long time and then I got in trouble for trying to chew on her bedspread. Last night she let me and Rocky lay on some curtains that she was eventually going to hang in her bedroom and I chewed through them. She said it was a sign from God that those were not the curtains for her. I think she was just trying to be nice but oh well. I'm bored right now. I've just taken a break from roaming the house and sniffing everything and chewing on the cat toys etc. By the way catnip isn't so bad after all for those of you who haven't tried it. The petsitter said that she thinks my mom should try to use some Bach Flower Remedies on me for my nervousness. She thinks it would help my chewing on curtains/blankies and stuff and maybe even with my nervousness around humans and during storms.

Cosmo's Diary

Today the petsitter got here around 245p. She hung out with us till 330 and then headed out the door. She cut her hour appointment just a tad short but I told her it would be ok since the whole time she's come here she's stayed between 2 and 3 hours. She was asking me if anyone else was coming in and taking care of us because the mail had moved around and the trash seemed stirred up, but I just told her that was Archie digging around to find something to chew on. She took that to note and removed anything from the trash that seemed like it was chokable since she knows about Archie's habit of trying to eat thiings that he could choke on. She said she'd be sad to miss out on our normal cry together watching Oprah and Dr. Phil. I told her it wouldn't hurt to miss a couple of days of our favorite shows. I just snuggled her during another show or two while she was here instead and all seemed fine when she left.

Rocky's Diary

Buddy and I got here earlier today and gave the place its initial sniff over. The petsitter wasn't here then so our mom sat with us for a minute and then headed out the door. She forgot our blankies but we did alright without them. The house was a snippit cold but that isn't a problem when you're so furrily endowed as I am. You should see me I'm a prime piece of dog meat. The bitches dig me and the dogs are afraid. Anyway enough about me. When the petsitter got here we were pretty excited. Even Buddy wasn't afraid or anything. For some reason we didn't feel like barking when she came in. We discussed it but I couldn't remember what the reason was for not barking. The petsitter sat all her stuff down and then tried to locate all of our stuff so that she knew where it all was. As soon as she found the leashes we were off for our walk. She grabbed one of the trash bags that needed to go out and walked it around to the dumpster with us. No big deal until she tried to throw the bag into the dumpster. She tossed the bag into the dumpster and the sound of it hitting the bottom of the dumpster scared the crap out of Buddy. He bolted and the petsitter wasn't holding his leash tight enough. Before I knew it she and I were walking behind Buddy all around the neighborhood trying to convince him to come to us. Finally the petsitter turned around and looked at me saying "this is going to be an all night thing isn't it?" About the same time Buddy just walked right up to us and practically handed her his leash. When we got back to the house we didn't go in we actually just grabbed a bunch of light bulbs and walked around the neighborhood to all the apartment buildings changing light bulbs in the stairways. When we got home Buddy was flustered from all the stops and the noise of the bulbs clanking together in the bag. The petsitter let the cats out and then it was a get to know you again sort of situation. Of course after all 4 of us ate Delila came around so she could smack the crap out of me for no reason at all. The petsitter smacked her for me. Samson kept driving Buddy nuts by trying to play with his ears and he finally snapped. Oh the pains of interspecial relationships!! Now it is finally calming down since K (the petsitter's girlfriend) got here. Buddy's napping beside the petsitter, the cats are chasing each other and any bugs coming in the window, I am about to start my snoring marathon beside K on the couch. All is well at Fuzzy Family Central.

Fuzzy Family Central Has A Temporary Zoo!!!!!

Not a real zoo silly! I have my friend TBLJ's dogs Rocky and Buddy over visiting until Sunday. For those of you who don't know that I have cats it is no big announcement but I have two kittens Samson and Delila. So the rest of the week you will be seeing diary entries from all four of the little fuzzies that are in my apartment. The real focus will of course be on Rocky and Buddy but the diary will be from the perspective of all the animals. So be ready for the fiasco that is about to be my humble abode.

Archie's Diary

Today the petsitter came in just in time for Oprah as always. She said the rest of the week she's coming earlier. She was so happy when she came in the door because last night she accidentally left the check my mom wrote her out on the countertop and she said she was afraid I would eat it because I was hungry for paper yesterday. Yesterday I pulled papers off of the refridgerator and made them fall between the fridge and the countertop. Whatever the petsitter could get she put in a pile over by the oven. She is about to scoop the litter box and then she's going to finish Oprah while she snuggles with us. I yelled and looked for Cosmo and couldn't find her so I decided to do the after dinner jog around the house. Normally Cosmo does our traditional jog around the house while we cheer each other on and then Cosmo sits on the chair and watches TV while I stand up on the counter top and snuggle with the petsitter. At some point later the petsitter ends up going over and snuggling Cosmo and I go and hang out in the bedroom. At that point I'm all about keeping to myself. Well I had better go yell for Cosmo again and figure out what's up.

Cosmo's Diary

The petsitter just got here. She fed us and scooped the litter box already. That was some quick moving on her part. She said she had to hurry and do it because she wanted to get it done before going to the bathroom. That was nice of her. I would have been freaking out hungry waiting for her to feed me while she was in there. She is watchin Oprah again. BlahBlah Blah Blah Al Gore is on talking about global warming and I am bored to death. Usually the petsitter and I sit and cry about whatever Oprah is talking about but not today because Al Gore is boring us both to death. We're still watching it though because it's educational. Archie is sitting on the shelf above the refridgerator. He likes to have a birds eye view of whatever is going on in the house. I think he's trying to figure out what I'm writing in my diary. He's always nosing in to see what is going on when the computer is on. He thinks it is his job to monitor the monitor I think. Oh well whatever works for him is fine with me and the petsitter said it's fine as long as no one walks across the keyboard.

Archie's Diary

The petsitter got here and fed us today around 4pm. She said that was her plan all week long was to come between 4-5pm each day. That is just about right I'd say because it's when we are tired of the dry food even though we like it. We Looooove getting the wet food. Today she gave us each a half can of the big can. Usually she gives us the small cans and saves the big ones for the weekend so we were kinda surprised today. That's how she is though. Just when you think she's gonna come in and do the same old routine she stirs it up a little by giving us the big can instead of the little one. She's watching Oprah right now with Cosmo. It's about the guy who won the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in Bangladesh. The guy has a book out called "Banker To The Poor" it's a great story. Cosmo is crying because the petsitter is crying. Cosmo told me it's hard not to cry when you see someone else crying. The petsitter is crying because she's a sap. She told me she can only remember about 10 Oprah shows she has seen where she didn't cry. She even told me that when she saw Oprah face to face she cried. What a sap!! She's said she'd scoop the litter box for me on the commercial and after that all will be done. She said she ate another of my mom's frozen pizza's. She figures she'll buy some more before my mom gets back. She normally doesn't replace them but that's because she doesn't usually eat the whole freezer worth. She said she may eat the whole freezer worth as long as mom is gone this time.

Cosmo's Diary

All is the same on the homefront. The petsitter came in and snuggled us and fed us and scooped the litter box. She hung out and watched TV with us she was kinda boring today because she said she had a headache. She just did the normal routine but wasn't as active. She said she'd be better tomorrow. We can only hope cause it's kinda boring without her playing with us. About the most that she did today was to come to the bedroom and pet me while I rolled around on mom's bed. Not too exciting.

Tiger Lily's Diary

This morning was a quick appointment with the petsitter. She said she'd come back later tonight to scoop the litter box. She skipped it the last couple of days. She said she's had a headache since Thursday. She also had a class all day long today that she was late for so she was in a hurry. Normally she stays with us for an hour but today she was only here for 30 minutes or so. She is great though no matter how long she stays. She snuggles me just enough but not too much, She hangs with Skye but never gets too close. She feeds us etc. It's like having a grandma here when mom's out of town.

Archie's Diary

All is well here on the homefront. I was a bit cold when the petsitter got here so I'm glad she showed up because she turned the heat up just a tad while she was here. She said her nose was running and so it would help her to be warmer. It got cold out last night down to the mid40's but all day today it has been somewhere around 65 degrees the whole day. We ate our wet food and got our dry food replenished and then the petsitter let me use the computer to type my diary while she snuggled with me. She ate a frozen pizza and we talked and snuggled and it was great. As long as she snuggles with me on the counter top or the back of the chair it's great but when she asks me to sit in her lap and snuggle I'm not sure about that. I think my mom is in Australia. Cosmo wants her to bring back a Dijouridoo if it's not too expensive (Really it's the petsitter but don't tell that I told you). The petsitter told me she has an American made one at her house that she plays all the time and she loves it but she figures that the ones made in Australia are much better made. She wouldn't want to spend more than 50-75 dollars for it though because it's not like petsitters are a rich group of people. She said she wished she could have snuck herself and us into mom's luggage because she's always wanted to go to Australia. I told her she could just live vicariously through my mom and all would be fine because truthfully I can't imagine flying to be a good thing for a cat to do.

Skye's Diary

Today the petsitter came in and did her normal routine. I have come to love it because I know what to expect. She says that animals are that way in the wild so they should be afforded the same opportunity in domestic life. She says that it is bad for us to have a life where we don't know what to expect from one moment to the next. That is why we love our mom. We know when she's coming home and when she's not and we know what the routine is when she is here and when she is gone. When she's gone we know that there will be a routine with the petsitter and basically it is the same as when mom is gone to work accept it seems like she's gone longer and she isn't the one to feed us. Any way that's why I like the petsitter because she comes in and does the same routine every time. She feeds us, waters us, medicates Tiger Lily's eyes, scoops the litter boxes and then she comes and sits in the same chair and does the same thing every time. She pets me when I come to her and she pets Tiger Lily too. She plays with Tiger Lily when she's asked and she never nags us to do more than we want to do. If all I want to do is sit in front of the window in the living room and stare at the birds fly by it is ok with the petsitter and she's not offended like other petsitters would be by me not hanging with her. She told me as long as she sees me and I eat then she's fine with that as long as I'm happy and healthy. Ahh the life of freedom in my own environment.

Tiger Lily's Diary

Tonight the petsitter came in to do her normal routine. She fed us, watered us, scooped the litter and brought in the mail. When she feeds me normally she waits a while before putting my medicine in my eyes since she stays so long. This time I asked her to do it first though cause my eyes were feeling funny. I kept feeling like they were going to cross past eachother or something. I kept seeing two of everything and I didn't know which thing was the right one to look at. It sure is a relief when she puts that stuff in my eyes even though it feels weird right when she does it. Skye is hiding up in the bedroom and I don't know if she'll come down tonight or not. She said she didn't feel like being social this evening since she was social earlier this morning. Maybe when she hears how much fun we're having down here she'll head down to visit with us.

Technorati Profile

Mary Lou's Diary

Today the petsitter showed up about the same time as always. She said she had a whole hour to spend with us and so she did all the normal duties and then took off to go to work. She was complaining about having to go to work because she said she had a really bad headache still. She was kinda quiet because of that but she was still nice and took care of all her stuff. My mom will be home tonight so that will give the petsitter a break from her headache. She'll have one less set of kitties to take care of and I hope that helps. She's stressed I could tell so I decided not to harrass her too much. I know that she has a headache and she has to go to work and she has a million problems at her apartment with maintenance and scheduling it so that she doesn't have to miss too much work so she doesn't have to lose money and therefore not pay her car insurance and everything. I know the life of a cat is stressful but I guess humans have a lot more stress. I think it's specist. I mean look at the way things go in this country. Humans will do whatever they can to take care of someone like me because I have fur. I don't pay taxes and I don't have a job. I don't do anything but look cute. Why in the world would these same people who run around and take care of people like me for no reason or compensation accept for some loving and snuggling but they won't do any of that for each other. Everything they do for eachother is related to some sort of stuff I've heard them refer to as money. I don't like the stuff personally because it stinks and you can't eat it. Any way I think they'd all be better off if they just snuggled and hung out together and traded everything they needed for love and snuggles instead of that useless stinky green stuff. What do I know I'm just a cat.

Skye's Diary

Today the petsitter showed up earlier than normal. She said she had all the other pets scheduled after us instead of before us so we got to eat early today. It was great having her here. She fed us and watered us and all that stuff. She hung with us for over an hour and I sat on the couch watching TV with her while Tiger Lily played with the petsitter's keychain under the chair. After that Tiger Lily got distracted by a piece of newspaper she had knocked off of the chair behind the chair the petsitter was sittng in. The petsitter looked at me asking why Tiger Lily would want to play with a piece of newspaper instead of her and I couldn't come up with any logic what so ever. I was confused too. I told the petsitter that Tiger Lily has eye problems so maybe she thought the newspaper was the petsitter. Then the petsitter acted offended because she thought maybe I was saying she was gray like the newspaper. Humans!!! They read into everything (no pun intended). What a weird species. It's like they have a complex because they don't have any hair or something.

Winnie's Diary

Tonight the door opened and we were really excited because we thought it was our mom. Instead it was the petsitter. We were happy that it was her but would have been happier if it had been our mom. We are looking forward to seeing mom and so we were a little disappointed. The petsitter told us that our mom was coming tomorrow night instead because something happened to delay her trip home. The petsitter had a headache so she was in and out and then she said she'd see us in the morning for about an hour.
